Millions of dollars in car developments and they can’t evel last a few hours in the heat…

This year the Save Albert Park stalwarts did manage to seriously embarrass the GP Corporation in court, so now all they will release are estimated crowd figures, with no guarantee of their accuracy. But even the estimates are impressive.  

There has always been a degree of public cynicism over the crowd figures released by the GP Corporation.

They got away with the 1996 figure of 401,000 because it was the first year.
The year two total was probably pretty realistic: 289,000.

But in the middle years of Melbourne’s Grand Prix reign it was hard to find anyone, except the GP number crunchers, who accepted the corporation figures at face value.

There was always the feeling that Billy the builder, working on site and never laying eyes on any sort of racing car, was counted every time he went through the gates.

Now is the time rip the whole lot out and start again

To blow this site off i thought id run a few things here over the weekend and then start from scratch (soon)

Today i’ve setup a few new streams.
1 is a direct relay of the action at Bathurst this weekend
and the other is the only digital stream in Melb*

News out of the region is horrible with the ‘police state of NSW’ coming back (only a few weeks after APEC’s $600m waste of time)

The P.O.R.S. water-cannon ‘white elephant’ has been driven up to the site and ‘threatens’ the regulars (as long as they have ‘numbers’ on them…)

Hi all

As you can see I’ve updated WordPress to 2.03.

I don’t know why, just wanted to try to patch it
Along with the update I’ve settled, for now, on this theme.
Hopefully it will display ok for all visitors and have the layout features for further plugins I might add.

Wordpress is opening alot of options up the more I look around.

Hopefully I’ll have the radio stream directly available from the front page (embedded player)

Finally, thanks for the continual massages about ScanAustralia.
All future messages will be kept there. any added below will be deleted.

Well, ScanAustralia.com.au has closed due to someone continually hacking the databases and threatening the security of 4444+ users of our great community.

Many people have already sent great messages of support and regret.
We may be back in the future but will keep it simple if we do.
